From driverless cars to high frequency trading, demands on our communications networks are increasing. Faster connections, more bandwidth and tighter security are all required to deal with the surge of data between interconnected devices. Whether it's in smart cities, factories of the future or the home, devices are becoming more powerful and ever smaller.

We are helping to deliver this connected future by developing the foundations of superfast 5G. We provide the testing and validation to ensure that devices can operate with maximum performance and safety. We also work on advanced materials to maximise the performance of new electronics. Our pioneering work on the next generation of quantum technologies will transform the security and reliability of communications.
