Who we work with

Universities and research organisations

We help researchers identify and address their measurement challenges

We are an important part of the UK research base and we deliver world-class measurement expertise to help universities and other research organisations solve their problems and add new capabilities. We offer support at every stage, from research and technology development to commercialisation and support services.

We are trusted by the likes of ESA and NASA to deliver mission critical equipment designed to withstand the challenging space environment. We work with research organisations such as Cancer Research UK to create new ways to map tumours.

Research partners

We currently collaborate with 75 universities, 45 of which are in the UK. Working with a large number of universities and science organisations around the world allows us to unlock new possibilities in areas as diverse as graphene and nuclear medicine.

We lead 30 pan-European research projects and are a partner in many more.

Our Postgraduate Institute is creating the next generation of world-class measurement scientists, and is based on a strategic partnership with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the University of Strathclyde and University of Surrey.

We also have framework partnerships with the University of Birmingham, University of Cambridge, University of Edinburgh, University of Huddersfield and Imperial College London to further cutting-edge research.
