Lucy Culleton, senior scientist at NPL, has been awarded the prize of the best lecture at a gas analysis symposium held in February 2024 in Paris.
Lucy was awarded the prize for her leading scientific research and standardisation work within the EPM BiometCAP project supporting biomethane measurement infrastructure worldwide.
Lucy and colleagues in the Energy Gas Metrology group deliver impact to industrial stakeholders via an internationally standardised protocol for instrument performance benchmarking. Industrial stakeholders praised this project as it will provide confidence in the quality of the gas delivered to end users throughout European gas grids.
Lucy Culleton, senior scientist, said: It’s an honour for NPL’s metrology work to be recognised at one of the most prominent international conferences in the field of gas analysis. We pride ourselves in the quality of our research outputs and the award is testament to the excellent work done by the NPL team and the wider project consortium. I look forward to continuing our novel research into decarbonisation and diversification of gas grids.”
