NPL is the UK's National Metrology Institute (NMI), and we lead a network of laboratories that form the UK's National Measurement System. Together, we deliver the measurement infrastructure and standards that underpin UK trade and prosperity.
We collaborate with other metrology institutes around the world to support the development of national and international measurement infrastructure, international standards and enable scientific innovation. As the UK’s NMI, and a leading NMI globally, we are able to provide stakeholders with confidence in the measurement results and data our instruments and expertise delivers, traceable back to national standards and SI units.
