William Broe joined NPL in April 2022 as a Scientist for the Microtraps team within the Quantum Information Processing group.
He completed a BSc in Physics and MSc in Quantum Technology at the University of Glasgow, with research experience predominantly in experimental quantum optics – particularly in the use of single-photon-sensitive cameras and detectors. Following this, he was a Photonics Intern at Cambridge Quantum Computing, where he worked on the characterisation of silicon photomultiplier detectors for use in applications of quantum cryptography.
