Ioannis Afxentiou, a Principal Engineer at NPL has received the EUR ING Certificate, which is awarded by Engineers Europe (formerly FEANI) and is a guarantee of competence for professional engineers.
Ioannis Afxentiou is a CEng MIET Chartered Engineer specialising in industrial automation, hybrid backup power and operational technology (OT) systems. At NPL Ioannis provides design, compliance and operational support services, to the engineering and science departments.
The title provides a guarantee of competence for professional engineers, to allow practising engineers to move within, and outside, the geographical area represented by Engineers Europe member countries. In doing so, this ensures mutual recognition of qualifications, should engineers wish to practice outside their own country. It also encourages the continuous improvement in the quality of engineers by setting, monitoring and reviewing standards.
Ioannis Afxentiou, principal engineer, said: “I’m very pleased to have received the EUR ING title as a form of recognition for my qualifications and my work delivering engineering solutions for society.”
