Developing your skills

We seek to stretch and grow the talents of our diverse workforce, tailoring development to the needs of each individual. We offer a wide range of learning and career development so everyone reaches their potential.

We are committed to supporting you to achieve chartered status with institutions, such as the Institute of Physics (IOP), IET and IMechE.

Development support for you may include mentoring or coaching, attending technical or leadership skills development courses and participating in a wealth of internal knowledge-sharing opportunities.

Diverse perspectives make us better

At NPL, we believe that diversity and inclusion is critical to our vision to deliver extraordinary impact, from our excellent science and engineering as an exemplary National Laboratory. We strive to nurture and respect individuals to ensure everyone feels valued and supported to excel in their chosen field. This value is at the core of our organisation.

To ensure everyone has an equal chance, we’re always willing to adjust at any stage of our recruitment processes. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact us.

A place to thrive

At NPL, we are committed to the health and wellbeing of our employees and recognise the importance of having fun. There is a Sports and Social Club on site at the edge of Bushy Park, where you can take advantage of the natural beauty, cafes and events.

We also offer varied social experiences on and off site where there really is something for everyone.
