Helloface is a newly established company based in Hertfordshire, who have developed an innovative face covering to help solve the challenges presented by difficulties in communication through opaque face masks. Established in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the development of the company was inspired by the founder’s wife who is partially deaf and relies on lip reading to assist when she may not be able to hear the person she is speaking with.
In response, Helloface developed a unique transparent face covering solution which incorporates Biomaster anti-microbial additives to inhibit the growth of harmful microbes on surfaces for the lifetime of the product. The Helloface coverings enable clear communication with lipreading and facial expressions visible from every angle. Helloface enables transparent communication for people with hearing and learning disabilities utilising innovative British design and manufacturing.
Working with NPL through the Measurement for Recovery programme, the team at NPL’s Huddersfield laboratory were able to provide a bespoke testing regime to demonstrate the Helloface products inhalation and liquid penetration resistance capability. The data generated through the M4R programme has enabled Helloface to move forward with their product development.
