Laurence Nicholls

Laurence Nicholls is a Scientist for Time and Frequency and a MInstP.  He joined NPL in 2019 following employment as a Physics Technician in Education, having previously attained a Master's Degree in Physics from the University of Southampton in 2015. Since joining NPL Laurence has worked in the Compact Clocks team where he is working on the optimisation of components for miniature atomic clocks.

Areas of interest:

• Frequency stability in Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators
• Cs vapour cells for CPT in atomic clocks
• Motion testing for vibration sensitive electronic components
