Biography
During his GCSEs Jamie Mewburn-Crook completed both the Labtastic program and the NPL academy. Immediately following on from completing his GCSEs, where he obtained A* equivalents in maths statistics and all 3 sciences, he enrolled onto the 6thapprentice cohort and joined the Institute of Physics. Since starting in 2018 Jamie has made upgrades to the imaging lab, such as designing and developing JIGS to add repeatability in source measurement as well as, upgrades to the 3D printing lab including the construction of a 4 material 3D printer.
Current interests
The focus of his work is currently on the development of quasi-realistic anthropomorphic phantoms for pre-clinical radiotherapy which employ materials such as NPL bone. He is also assisting Sean Collins in the development of doped thermoplastics materials for the additive manufacturing of tissue equivalent phantoms and neutron activated standards.
