1 minute read

The European Metrology Network (EMN) for Smart Electricity Grids is the single point of contact across Europe that provides stakeholders support for measurement challenges in the realisation of smart electricity grids with aim to build a low-carbon, climate resilient future requires secure, clean and efficient energy.

Stefano was recently elected as chair EMN Smart Electricity Grids with a term to run until 2026 and he considers his term to be the start of a new phase for the network. “Our aim is to enhance coordination of national activities, provide a single point of contact for stakeholders, increase coherence in R&D efforts and maximise the impact of metrology. I see the EMN Smart Grids as the single voice of European metrology for smart electricity grids, and I aim at strengthening our links with the electricity sector to promote the role of metrology and facilitate the delivery of our science to address measurement challenges of future electricity grids”, said Stefano

Stefano Lodetti obtained his doctorate in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency at the Universidad de Zaragoza in Spain, an area he was drawn to as the impact of research in this fast-moving field provides tangible results in the real world.
