Biography
Yiwen Pei is a Senior Scientist in NPL's Surface Technology Group. Her research focus lies on the development of new analytical knowledge for high-value sustainable polymer technologies for medical applications and beyond. Yiwen is passionate about and has been active in the design, synthesis and characterisation of advanced polymeric (nano)materials.
Yiwen obtained her PhD in polymer chemistry from the University of Auckland (New Zealand). After her PhD, she joined University of New South Wales and Curtin University (Australia) to work as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2016, Yiwen moved to the UK and worked at King’s College London, University of Surrey and University College London, before joining National Physical Laboratory in 2018.
Yiwen acts a UK expert for ISO/TC 229 (nanotechnologies) and CEN/TC 352 (nanotechnologies). She is a Charted Chemist and a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
