Prior to the conclusion of the Diploma he started working at Southampton Solent University as a Research Assistant, working on a conference paper on the modelling of piling noise underwater, and the effects on marine mammals. From April 2017 Ben began working at an acoustic consultancy in London undertaking noise surveys, sound insulation testing, and design work. Ben joined the underwater acoustics group at the National Physical Laboratory in November 2019.

Ben has been an Associate Member of the Institute of Acoustics since 2017.

Current Interests

Ben is a Research Scientist within the Underwater Acoustics team and is currently working on testing in the acoustic pressure vessel, or on calibrations either at the main laboratories in Teddington, or at the open-water reservoir site.
