For operation up to ~2750 °C
NPL can provide, as part of a complete system, a suitable radiation thermometer for use with NPL high temperature fixed-point blackbody sources or variable temperature blackbody sources. This can form part of a complete system to be provided and installed. Furthermore, training is also available.
Radiation thermometer capabilities
The supplied radiation thermometer will typically have a 1 mm field of view (fov) at 750 mm distance, a bandpass filter at a centre wavelength of 715 nm and a size-of-source effect (SSE) of less than 0.2 %. This instrument can be calibrated to an uncertainty of 0.05 % to ˃2000 °C (k = 2).
Calibration options
The radiation thermometer will be supplied with a calibration: the range of which will be chosen, subject to the user requirements.
