Nathalia obtained her PhD in Nuclear Technology from the University of São Paulo – Brazil. Her project thesis was on the dosimetry of small fields in Gamma Knife machines. She joined NPL in 2017 after spending seven years in a Secondary Standard Calibration Laboratory in São Paulo at the Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares (IPEN), where she gained experience in calibration and dosimetry measurements and acquired her PhD and MSc.
Nathalia is involved with dosimetry calibration services, mainly therapy level absorbed dose using the clinical linear accelerator and the Cobalt machine at NPL. She is also involved with the development of dosimetry for existing and emerging radiotherapy techniques such as small field X-rays and proton therapy. She supports off-site audits, beam data acquisition of radiotherapy centres and takes part in research activities.
