David is Deputy Director, International Research and Innovation at BEIS – leading on various elements of the government’s science and innovation relationship with UK and international partners, as well as sponsoring several public sector research establishments including the Met Office and UKAEA.
David was previously an Executive Director at UK Government Investments (UKGI) where he led the Financial Institutions Group policy team. Prior to that, David spent over a decade at HM Treasury, including a role as Head of Corporate Finance. Whilst at HM Treasury, David worked on public spending, international (IMF/G20) policy and financial stability, advising on a range of Budgets, Spending Reviews and international meetings.
David studied Natural Sciences at the University of Bath, including both physical and biomedical sciences.
