Manoj Stanley

Higher scientist

Manoj Stanley joined NPL in the Electromagnetic Technologies group after completing his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Liverpool in 2019. He has supported the development of next-generation computing and communications technologies and high-frequency electronics applications. This includes design and characterisation of devices at millimetre-wave and Terahertz frequencies, RF metrology for Quantum Computing applications, Material characterisation, and Channel characterisation for 5G and beyond communication.  He has also developed new methods and techniques for non-destructive testing and measurements in outdoor and challenging environments to address unique measurement challenges in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles research, Precision Agriculture, etc.

Currently, he is developing high-frequency metrology capabilities to characterise Superconducting Quantum Integrated Circuits at milliKelvin temperatures. He is the Operations Officer for European Microwave Week 2021.

Areas of interest

  • High Frequency Metrology for Superconducting Quantum Computing Applications
  • High Frequency Metrology for Device, Material and Channel Characterisation
  • Non-destructive Testing and Metrology for Outdoor and Challenging Environments
