Xuhui is a Higher Scientist working in the area of electrochemical energy storage and electrochemical probing. His work aims to explore viable means and develop characterisation tools for advancing battery development and supporting the industry.
Xuhui’s research started with the synthesis of electrode materials for Li/Na/K-ion batteries and then expanded to degradation diagnostic and electrochemical in-situ characterisation, including integrated FIB-SEM/ToF-SIMS system, in-situ XRD, in-situ TEM, in-situ Raman and in-situ SEM characterisations. His doctoral research included solid-state batteries and advanced characterisation methodologies. Xuhui completed his PhD in Comp Sci & Elec Eng from the University of Surrey, and joined NPL as a Higher Research Scientist in December 2022.
His work revolves around advancing Li/Na-ion batteries, solid-state Li metal batteries, and implementing in-situ characterisation techniques. Areas of interest include:
