Stephanie joined NPL in May 2022 where she joined the ion microtrap team, working on generating entangled states for applications in metrology and quantum information processing.
Following her PhD research demonstrating the ground state cooling of trapped ions at the University of Oxford Stephanie spent time at the Max-Planck-Institute for Quantum Optics in Munich. She then returned to the UK, working on trapped ion experiments at the University of Oxford, the University of Sussex, and Imperial College London, all concerned with implementing the fundamental operations required for quantum computing.
