Sena Yerebasmaz joined NPL in 2024 as a PhD student whilst studying Physics at the University of York. She will be working on experimental quantum communications, focusing on quantum key distribution. Sena got her BSc in Engineering Physics from Istanbul Technical University and her MSc in Electronic & Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. Before starting her PhD, she worked as an R&D scientist, involved in PVD thin film coating projects. Her previous research interests include cryogenic propulsion and superconducting materials.
