Selina has worked at NPL since 2005, starting as dispatcher of all radioactive material and dangerous goods. In 2007 she joined the radiochemistry team to perform radiochemical analyses for various decommissioning projects. She was also carrying out routine isotopic separations and garnered much experience in source preparation and analysis of non-standard reference materials, e.g. seaweed, grass and even shellfish. She has also been heavily involved in making novel radioactive reference materials.
Selina joined NPL’s Health Physics Unit in 2017 and is a radiation protection supervisor. Included in her activities are managing dosimetry across NPL, maintaining the radioactive inventory and induction and refresher training.
She is a member of the Society for Radiological Protection (MSRP).
