Poonam Ghai obtained her Master’s degree in Biotechnology in 2007 from University of Abertay Dundee, Scotland by studying the inhibitory effects of anti-tumour drugs and its role in senescence in healthy cells. She has gained over 14 years of laboratory experience working at the University of Bath and Imperial College London in the areas of cancer biology, immunology, and human diseases. Her research projects included using next-generation sequencing to perform genomic analysis of psoriasis. Her most recent research work focused on the elucidation of interactions between the respiratory tract microbiota and innate immunity in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Poonam joined NPL in 2023 to support and advance developments in intracellular metrology and system biophysics. She is an experienced molecular and cell biologist with a solid background in genetics and microbiology. In Biomet, Poonam continues to pursue her interests in cell biology and mechanisms of diseases.
