Ona Sobotie

Ona is a battery metrologist developing cutting edge measurement techniques for UK academia and industry working towards building better batteries for a net-zero future

Ona graduated in January 2023 from the University of Lincoln with MSc Energy Materials and Battery Science following her BSc in Chemistry. Ona's master's thesis focussed on the variance of manganese dioxide polymorphs and how their structural distinctions impacted their behaviour and longevity as cathodes in zinc-ion batteries. These materials were chosen due to their natural abundance, environmentally benign nature, and compatibility with aqueous electrolytes.
