Murat Celep is the Science Area Leader in the Electromagnetic Measurements Group at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). He holds a BEng (1999), MSc (2007), and PhD (2013) in Electronic and Communication Engineering from Kocaeli University, Türkiye.
Prior to joining NPL in January 2020, Murat worked at the National Metrology Institute of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK UME) from 1997. He has over 25 years of experience in RF and microwave power, S-parameters, microwave noise, impedance, attenuation, and EMC calibrations.
He coordinated the EMPIR RFMicrowave project (May 2016 – May 2019), funded by EURAMET (the European Association of National Metrology Institutes). Murat is a Senior Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), a member of the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) TC25 technical committee, and the convenor of its MT8 subcommittee. He also serves on the EURAMET TCEM RFMW and BSI (British Standards Institution) SS/7 technical committees.
