Michael Adeogun leads the development of NPL’s Life Sciences & Health Sector Strategy including identification of needs and opportunities and, in partnership with the science teams and external organisations, translates these into prioritised measurement challenges. Michael led NPL’s Analytical Science Division with a focus on metrology research and scientific R&D for a range of government and commercial stakeholders, in biotechnology, surface analysis and nanoscience.
Michael has a strong technical and commercial background and has previously been a Board Member for the Nanotechnology Industries Association and worked as a Programme Manager at NPL. He also spent 8 years as a Senior Consultant for Strategic Business Insights working with companies to identify and develop new business opportunities from technology innovations. Michael has also worked as a Development Chemist for both Honeywell Specialty Chemicals and Kobe Steel Europe Ltd, and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Reading's Centre for Biomimetics. Michael was awarded a PhD for his work in sol-gel nanocomposites from the University of Surrey and holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry from the University of Greenwich.
