Marc joined the Nuclear Metrology Group at NPL as a Higher Scientist in 2018 after having previously completed his MPhys degree in Physics with Nuclear Astrophysics at the University of Surrey and an Engineering Doctorate through the University of Surrey and based at Centronic Ltd. His doctoral research involved work on the performance characteristics of gas-filled radiation detectors and a study on the operational lifetimes of Geiger-Müller detectors to investigate methods of increasing their durability in high temperature environments. He is currently part of the radioactive gas counting group at NPL and is involved in the research, development and standardisation of gaseous radionuclides.
