Kimberley graduated from the University of Surrey in 2018 with a Bsc in Physics and plans to pursue a masters in Nuclear Physics in the coming years. Since June 2019 she has been working with NPL’s Nuclear Metrology Group, focusing on neutron radiation related measurement and calibration services. Meanwhile she has been assisting in research which aims to characterise the stray neutron fields generated during proton beam therapy. Ultimately this hopes to combat the problem of radiation induced secondary malignancies which are often a delayed outcome of this treatment
