Bhaswar’s involvement with health physics originally stemmed from interests in instrumentation and detection. He joined NPL in 2018 having been involved in radiation protection since 2007 whilst designing tests for neutron detectors. Prior to that he’d been developing 3D atom probe microscopes, other material analyses and thin film deposition techniques.
Bhaswar supports all areas of health physics across NPL including protection advice, liaising with regulators, dose estimation, induction and refresher training.
Bhaswar is a Chartered Chemist, a Member of the Institute of Physics and of the Society for Radiological Protection. He is a member of the SRP’s Research and Teaching Committee focussing on radiation protection, regulator consultations and associated issues arising in schools, higher education and research institutes.
