Andrew Wilson

Andrew currently supports our work on Primary Frequency Standards within Time and Frequency at NPL. Helping to maintain the UKs realisation of the SI second and working to develop our latest generation reliable and accurate Caesium Fountain’s.

Andrew received his Master’s in Electronic Engineering (MEng) from Durham University in 2019, with a dissertation focused measuring the ‘state of health’ of Li-Ion Cells. Prior to joining NPL Andrew’s work included development of specialist measurement apparatus for the Oil Industry and CNC system integration.

Areas of Interest

• Maintaining NPL status as a world leader in Metrology though continuous development and improvement to our infrastructure and systems.
• Developing highly reliable and compact Primary and Secondary Frequency Standards for wider application.
• Facilitating the development of more robust and resistant distributed national timescale.
