Bringing together policy makers, engineers, regulators and technology users, the event will look beyond the question "what is eLoran?" to consider where it genuinely adds value, particularly for timing-dependent sectors such as telecoms, finance, energy and transport, while being realistic about performance limits, integration challenges, and the need for international interoperability and common standards.
Keynote Sessions include:
-
"UK resilient PNT roadmap and the role of eLoran" - Michael Jones, ROKE
-
"Towards New Mathematical Modelling of eLoran Skywave Interference" - William Lee, University of Cambridge
-
"International developments and interoperability" - Lukasz Bonenberg, European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC)
The programme will also address how an eLoran system could be delivered so that it is:
- Interoperable with allied systems
- Cyber-secure
- Aligned with the UK's wider industrial and growth strategies
Speakers and panellists will discuss:
- Business cases and the market failures that justify public intervention.
- The research and innovation agenda needed to ensure eLoran, if adopted, becomes part of a coherent, exportable UK offer in resilient PNT rather than a stand-alone technical niche.
