The aim of this project is to develop a multi-terahertz (THz) optical parametric oscillator (OPO) tunable over 3 THz to 10 THz.

Target applications are: THz spectroscopy, non-destructive material testing, remote sensing and homeland security.

A subject of particular interest is bio-molecular and pharmaceutical compounds
which possess molecular resonances at THz frequencies.
