followed by
Industry Workshop and Networking Sessions on 24 October 2018

PGI Conference

The Postgraduate Institute for measurement science (PGI) conference brings together experts and practitioners in the field. Now in its third year, the PGI celebrates the success of its unique strategic partnership with the Universities of Surrey and Strathclyde. Hosted this year at the University of Strathclyde's Technology and Innovation Centre, students of the PGI will be among those presenting the latest advances in measurement science.

This conference will be of interest to students, supervisors as well as academic and industry members whose operations and research rely on measurements. Covering themes of:

  • Risk and Uncertainty
  • Policy and Practice
  • Communication and Influence

Overview

The conference on Day 1 will include keynote speeches from academics (TBC), as well as student-led poster sessions and oral presentations (each 12+3 minutes long) from a range of research disciplines. The talks will be attended by many NPL scientists, senior university representatives and interested industry parties, in addition to fellow postgraduate students. All of these groups together will provide an excellent opportunity for networking and establishing new research links.

Conference dinner – more details to follow.

On Day 2 there will be a focus on industry, with talks from industry leaders and a careers exposition in the afternoon – more details to follow.
