NPL is joining other National Measurement Institutes and industry experts from around the world at NCSL International 2017 in Maryland, USA.

Hear from NPL's world leaders in measurement science at various presentations and panels for the latest insights on tackling skills gaps in industry and upcoming changes to the Kibble balance, or visit NPL at Stand 219 in the Exhibition Hall, to learn more about our highly-accurate metrology instruments, sensors and artefacts, and our training packages.

Panels and presentations:

  • Tuesday 15 August 10:30 am – 11:30 am:
    Session 1B: Cutting Edge Metrology – The New SI: Looking Into the Future
    NPL's Dr Stuart Davidson will be discussing how we can address the need for wider access to the SI Unit of Mass following the revision of the International System of Units.
  • Tuesday 15 August 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm:
    Session 3C: Electrical Measurement – Current
    NPL's Dr Stephen Giblin will be talking about improved methodologies for traceable measurements of small electric currents.
  • Wednesday 16 August 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm:
    Panel 5A: Metrology Education – A New Professional Recognition Scheme for Metrologists
    NPL's Keith Bevan and Tim Prior will be discussing how NPL is tackling current skills gaps in industry, along with representatives from NIST, Rolls-Royce and East Coast Metrology.

The Exhibition Hall is open to the public on Thursday 17 August between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
