NPL’s M4R programme will be used to validate technology used across NHS

Measurement for Recovery (M4R) is continuing to deliver real impact to companies across the UK.

Working with NPL, Glow successfully secured a place on the programme to test their SafeTeam Guardian and formally benchmark its accuracy in the field. Glow’s SafeTeam Guardian’s software package is used by the NHS to rapidly improve safety for large numbers of mobile workers, provides real time situational awareness and delivers detailed evidence for workers to plan their service delivery.

SafeTeam Guardian stores anonymised patient locations, bases and hospital locations and provides a real time view as mobile workers move through the community. Heath workers are able to log their location and managers are able to understand at a glance who is at any given location. If necessary, the technology also allows mobile health workers to trigger an automated emergency response from their phone.

This independent study will be invaluable in proving the capabilities of the technology in protecting lone health workers in the field, every hour of every day.

Irshaad Fatadin, Principal Research Scientist, NPL, states: “NPL is dedicated to supporting UK industry in its economic recovery post Covid-19 and collaborating with innovative companies like Glow New Media Ltd to help them invest and grow. We are excited to provide our measurement and analysis expertise to enhance product reliability, investigate the feasibility of concepts and validation of leading products and processes.”

Phil Blyhting, Managing Director, Glow states: “NPL literally leads the world in scientific measurement. We’re so excited to have NPL put our technology through its paces and determine its capabilities in the field!”
