15th International Conference on New Developments and Applications in Optical Radiometry (NEWRAD 2023)
From 11 to 15 September 2023, The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) will host the 15th International Conference on New Developments and Applications in Optical Radiometry (NEWRAD 2023) at our facilities in Teddington, (near London) UK.
The NEWRAD Conference covers all aspects of optical radiation measurement and continues the philosophy from its inception of providing an opportunity to build interfaces between the founding: remote sensing, solar and metrology communities as well as more recent quantum optics together with other novel and emerging applications. The four-day programme, will be structured to present both state of the art research and facilitate discussion between communities through a plenary only format and social program. There will also be opportunities to visit nearby institutes that we hope will be of interest to all participants.
The conference ticket includes all the hospitality and refreshments for the conference, a welcome reception on Monday 11 September and the social activity which is a guided tour of Hampton Court Palace and the conference dinner at The King's Head in Teddington on Wednesday 13 September.
The closing date to register for the conference is 23:59 (UTC+1) on 14 August 2023.

Poster and Presentation Guidelines
For posters:
All posters must be A1 in size (594 mm x 841 mm), with headers no smaller than 40pt and the main body of text no smaller than 22pt.
Please print your posters ahead of your arrival at the conference and hand in at registration.
If you’d like your poster to be advertised around Reception, please send these to newrad2023@npl.co.uk by 28 August. Note that you will still be required to provide a printed version.
For presentations:
All presentation slides must have an aspect ratio of 16:9 (‘widescreen’ within powerpoint), with headers no smaller than 24pt and the main body of text no smaller than 18pt.
Presentations must be no longer than 15 minutes, with 5 minutes after for questions. For invited speakers, this is extended to 25 minutes, with 5 minutes for questions.
Presentations must be submitted in advance as we do not allow USB sticks due to cyber security. Presentations can be emailed to newrad2023@npl.co.uk or if the file is too large, please contact events@npl.co.uk where you will be given a link to upload the presentation.
