dXCT conference 2018

Tuesday 3 July 2018 – University of Nottingham, UK

NPL's third Dimensional X-ray Computed Tomography (dXCT) conference at the University of Nottingham, on Tuesday 3 July 2018 was a success and well-attended. The dXCT conference is an annual conference presenting and disseminating the latest developments in XCT for dimensional measurements and its industrial impact across a variety of applications.

80 delegates attended the main conference, including 10 exhibitors. The number of presentations has again increased this year, with a total of 21 (12 high-quality oral presentations and nine post presentations), compared to 18 last year.

The pre-conference workshop in this year's event, including an introduction to metrology given by John Turland from NPL Training and a basic introduction to XCT provided jointly by University of Nottingham and invited speakers from KU Leuven, was also well-attended, with more than 50 delegates, and generated a lot of interest.

The event is now a flagship in the field of X-ray computed tomography and attracts more international attendees. After the open panel discussion, it was confirmed that the upcoming two dXCT conferences will be held at the University of Huddersfield in 2019 and at the University of Manchester in 2020.
