Lisa leads NPL’s Regional Strategy and team, she is responsible for defining and developing NPL’s vision to expand its nationwide footprint leading to local economic growth and prosperity across the UK. She is accountable for championing the longer-term synergy between NPL’s network of centres and local stakeholders to maximise impact. She led the initial development of NPL’s first satellite dimensional laboratory in Huddersfield.
Since 2016 Lisa has been on a part-time secondment as an Assistant Director in the Place, Impact and Research team, within BEIS, developing policy from a Place and innovation perspective.
Lisa has led remotely-based teams embedded in customer sites, delivering services within the UK and abroad. She has also worked in industry to establish regulatory compliant laboratories, developing international standards and technical training in areas of metrology capability and improvement.
Before joining NPL, Lisa led the European metrology function within a global ophthalmic manufacturer and prior to that worked as a research physicist in photonics while based at the Louis Pasteur University, in France.
She is an energetic leader, with experience in policy, industry and project roles. Trained as an business coach, mental health first aider and mindfulness champion, Lisa enjoys teamwork, problem solving and progressive working environments.
