NPL Training

A measured approach to training

NPL Training is designed to upskill candidates in all aspects of metrology.

Knowing how to use a measurement tool is not the same as knowing how to use measurement as a tool. Today's businesses have not sought to understand the principles of measurement because advances in automated technology give a false impression of accuracy and consistency. Without the knowledge to question measurement and the ability to solve problems, poor decisions and costly mistakes can be made.

A core understanding of why a measurement process is carried out, rather than just how, can result in:

  • Fewer errors and increased productivity
  • Reduction in the need for expensive technical support
  • Lower waste levels and re-work time
  • Improved quality control and accuracy
  • Promotion of decision-making and planning culture amongst staff

NPL's Training courses are supported by an extensive series of Measurement Best Practice Guides. Many of our guides are available for free download from our Publications database and are downloaded thousands of times each year.
