Abstract:

A radiation thermometer (pyrometer) has been built that is shown will be capable of providing National Measurement Institute primary standard levels of uncertainty traceable to the kelvin at temperatures above 1300~K following proposed changes to the \emph{mise en pratique} for the realisation of the kelvin.
