Thermo Mechanical Analysis
TMA is another useful thermal analysis technique used in materials characterisation.
The sensitive nature of the technique in either the penetration or expansion modes offers certain advantages. Dimensional changes even in thin films and coatings can be measured.
Properties that can be measured by TMA include:
- Glass transition
- Coefficient of thermal expansion
