Bentley Motors is dedicated to making some of the world's most respected cars that offer a unique combination of craftsmanship, luxury and high performance. To further improve the skills of its workforce, this famous British company only uses top of the range training.

Mark Imms, Metrology Manager at the iconic manufacturer, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, explains:

"Thanks to the NPL Training, the measurement associates are now thinking out of the box. Previously we might have relied on coordinate measurement machines, now the guys on the shop floor question the best methods to use for each measurement. We are already seeing a faster turnaround of measurement activities with higher accuracy and increased confidence."

A large number of engineers at Bentley's Crewe headquarters have undergone Level 1 of NPL's Dimensional Measurement Training programme and half of those have already gone on to attend Level 2. As the UK's national measurement institute, the National Physical Laboratory is uniquely placed to help those working on the front line to apply measurement techniques to real problems. It can help companies get more from their workforce and reduce costly mistakes.

"We want to ensure that all the methods we use are best practice. NPL is known for its technical expertise in this area, and can provide the highest level validated training. It has added to our professionalism and improved communication with our suppliers. We will definitely be putting more engineers through the course."
