Alastair Sinclair
Biography

Alastair Sinclair received a BSc in Laser Physics & Optoelectronics (1991), and a PhD in physics (1994), from the University of Strathclyde.
His PhD thesis concerned the study of laser-cooled rubidium atoms.
He held postdoctoral fellowships from the Royal Society and the Lindemann Trust at Stanford University, investigating quantum effects in laser-cooled atoms.
Current interests
Since 1997 he has worked at NPL, researching the quantum nature of trapped ions and single photons.
