Youngs Modulus Testing

Measurements can be made on a variety of materials using a static test to a typical accuracy of better than 2%. The test method uses strain gauges bonded to both sides of a flat test piece to eliminate bending and get an accurate value for the strain reading and Young's modulus.

Proprietary NPL software has been developed to perform the data analysis and Young's modulus calculations by analysing the secant and tangent moduli.
