Surface Engineering Collaborations

Collaborative work can be carried out through projects that are funded directly. A description of the facilities and expertise that can be applied to measurement problems is available. Other mechanisms to develop collaborative projects are also available through the measurements for innovators programme.

One direct way that industry can collaborate with NPL is through Industrial Advisory Groups (IAGs). These provide essential industrial focus, direction, continual peer review, feedback throughout the project lifetime. They also play a key role in formulating future research projects.

The groups are made up of from industrial companies in relevant sectors and experts from research based organisations. There are a number of IAGs , the majority of which are free to join for companies registered in and/or with production facilities in the UK.
