Density
Density measurement of polymer samples in either the molten or solid states, using Archimedes principle or by direct measurement of the sample's dimensions and mass.
Measurements of solid state polymeric samples can be performed on samples of various geometries at ambient temperature using both the Archimedes' principle, by immersing the sample into water or silicone oil, or by direct measurement of the samples dimensions and mass. Samples of complex geometry are suited to measurement using Archimedes' principle only.
Measurements of molten state polymeric samples at atmospheric pressure and ambient or elevated temperatures using Archimedes' principle by immersing the sample into either water or silicone oil.
