Quality Assurance for Earth Observation (QA4EO)

QA4EO was an initiative set up to harmonise best practices across the EO community as well as promote the use of such practices.

Several workshops were held as part of the initiative focusing on quality assurance of EO products, including calibration and validation of EO sensors and establishing an operational framework for the initiative. In addition, many best practice guides were developed under QA4EO. These cover areas ranging from generic guidelines on the implementation of QA to specific topics such as absolute calibration using Rayleigh scattering. Several case studies were also developed which included information on intercomparison of fAPAR datasets and the Sentinel-2 Radiometric Uncertainty Tool (RUT).
