Gas metrology software
NPL has developed the following software programs for use when preparing and analysing gas mixtures:
- GravCalc2 – calculates the composition of gravimetrically-prepared gas mixtures
- XLGENLINE – performs generalised least squares regression analysis
GravCalc2
GravCalc2 is a Windows-based software program that calculates the amount fraction and uncertainty of all components in gravimetrically prepared gas mixtures using the method outlined in the International Standard ISO 6142. The program can be used for any gas mixture containing any range of species.
A copy of the program user guide can be downloaded free of charge here.
For further information about GravCalc2, or to request a quotation, please contact us.
XLGENLINE
XLGENLINE is an Excel-based software program that allows the user to perform generalised least squares (GLS) regression analysis that is fully compliant with the International Standard ISO 6143. XLGENLINE calculates the values and uncertainties of the ‘unknowns’, displays a plot of the fitted regression function, and (for first order polynomial functions) outputs the parameters of the fit (gradient, intercept, covariance, etc.).
The software (which can also be used for ordinary least squares (OLS) analysis) has many other analytical science applications - it can be used wherever regression analysis is required.
XLGENLINE (v1.1) can be downloaded free of charge from the Software Support for Metrology Downloads page.
