MTDATA TrainingIntroductory Course
This course is aimed at new or potential users of MTDATA.
The MTDATA introductory course aims to give a hands-on introduction to the MTDATA graphical and character based user interfaces and an overview of the functionality of each of the different MTDATA modules. Module by module demonstrations are supplemented by practical sessions where participants are encouraged to try out calculations of their own or to attempt set examples. Course notes are provided in the form of a summary of MTDATA commands.
The exact programme for each course depends upon the needs of the trainees, but typically covers:
The MTDATA graphical and character based user interface(s) and help:
- MTDATA macros and metafiles
- The storage and retrieval of thermodynamic data
- MTDATA database management
- Binary and ternary phase diagrams
- Phase equilibrium calculations using MULTIPHASE
- Predominance area diagrams using COPLOT
- An introduction to built-in applications

MTDATA Introductory courses held at NPL last two days and cost £950 excl VAT per person. Some familiarity with the use of PCs and/or text editors would be useful in parts of the course.
