The MTDATA application interface is a collection of functions and subroutines, written in standard FORTRAN, which allows an MTDATA user to set up MTDATA calculations and process the results from within his or her own software. The aim of the MTDATA application writers’ course is to give an overview of the MTDATA application interface and a hands-on introduction to the writing of MTDATA application programs. Course notes are provided in the form of a guide to the MTDATA application interface.

The course will generally cover the use of MTDATA from within a users' program written in Visual Basic. However the exact programme for each course will depend upon the needs of the trainees.

The course will typically cover:

  • An introduction to the MTDATA application interface
  • Calling MTDATA routines from Visual Basic
  • Setting up MTDATA calculations
  • Using the results of MTDATA calculations
  • Writing a simple application program
  • Links between MTDATA and other commercial software

MTDATA Application Writers' Courses held at NPL last two days and cost £1900 (ex. VAT) per person for the 2 days. Familiarity with the MTDATA user interface(s) and a reasonable knowledge of programming (either FORTRAN or Visual Basic) is assumed.
