MTDATA requires thermodynamic data in order to calculate phase equilibria. NPL has developed or has access to a wide range thermodynamic databases covering such materials as alloys, oxides, mattes, semiconductors, aqueous solutions, molten salts and gases.

Thermodynamic databases are available for licensing on either a permanent or annual basis for use with the MTDATA software.

• Off-the-shelf databases are available for many common materials
  
  
• Bespoke databases can be developed for specific users
  
  
• Databases may also be developed as part of collaborative projects
